I am a painter based in China, working primarily in watercolor and gouache. My practice moves between two languages: the geometric landscape — hills, villages and trees folded into translucent planes of colour — and looser, expressionist scenes where pigment is allowed to misbehave.
Every piece is built in layers, the way memory is built: one wash of blue over a wash of green, until the scene beneath stops being a place and becomes a feeling. Collectors in Asia, Europe and North America live with these works today.
